Development is fascinating. Most people will acknowledge the effects of genes in combination with the effects of environment but then, what about the physical nature of the materials that are self organising and the 4 billion years of history for every living thing on the planet? At so many points my DNA could have taken a different path. I could have been a sea squirt, or a turnip but I'm not. I'm a human ... well ... I'm pretty sure I'm human, discounting the idea that I may be an hallucination in the universal hologram.
